I celebrated International Women’s Day by attending a women in technology one-day conference hosted by WomenTechmakers and Google in London.  WomenTechmakers and Google partnered to host events all over the world, including one in London.  I had some fantastic conversations throughout the day.  One of my favourite parts was finding myself suddenly thrown into the role of mentoring.  Normally I’m trying to wangle advice out of others but there were quite a few students or early careerists at this event who wanted advice about going into data analytics/data science, which is my field.  It was extremely rewarding to be on the other side of the equation for a change.
