I’ve been having a grand time saying goodbye to the county I’ve called home for the last four years. My landlady took me to Topsham and Budleigh Salterton a few days ago. I didn’t realize the coastal cliffs along there and parts of Exmouth are considered part of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. It certainly is lovely there–I’ve seen a fair few World Heritage Sites now, from the Smoky Mountains to the pyramids at Giza, and I can see why the Jurassic Coast makes the list. The color of the sea and the hilly, leafy terrain (though not the beautiful russet soil characteristic of these parts) reminds me of my hometown, also nautically inclined and full of narrow, winding roads that many Americans would find quite foreign.
